Overview
Xi'an, one of the most ancient cities in China with a long history
over the course of 1,100 years. It was called Chang'an in ancient
times and it is now the capital of Shaanxi province. Xi'an is
located in the centre of the Weihe Plain and benefits from the
fact that the old dynasties kept the city beautiful and magnificent.
The rich cultural relics and historical sites preserved in Xi'an
reflect the features of ancient Chinese society, giving us a great
deal of historical knowledge and enjoyment.
Today Xi'an
is the biggest industrial city and cultural centre in the Northwest
of China as well as a world-famous tourist city and a treasure
house of cultural relics. The remains of past civilizations furnish
evidence of every major epoch in China's history. The city was
the starting point of the world-famous Silk Road and can be well
