Overview
Known as the
"Land of Snows" Tibet offers stunning views over the
world's highest mountains.
Tibet is one
of the world's most extraordinary destinations and there is adventure
lurking around almost each and every corner. It's the highest
snow-covered plateau in the world. For centuries this mysterious
Buddhist Kingdom, locked away in its mountain fortress of the
Himalayas has been exercising its own fascination and uniqueness
on the imagination of the outsiders. As the "Rooftop of the
World" most of Tibet is too arid and cold to support human
life and the place is hence very thinly populated. Outsiders are
always impressed by the Tibetans' survival in the harsh environment
and by their capability of managing to retain a remarkably cheerful
outlook on life.
